How to boost your FICO credit score

Whether you are thinking of buying a house, a car, or just need a loan, a high credit score is key to getting the best interest rate.

Paying bills on time and keeping a low credit utilization rate are two ways to help improve your score, but now you have an opportunity to boost it through one of the three credit reporting agencies.

Experian Boost is touted as a free, easy way to add some points to your FICO score, by giving you credit for on-time utility, phone, and cable payments.

Two out of three credit scores improved when using this online tool, according to a release from Experian.
