5 ODOT Christmas movie references urge safe driving this holiday weekend

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s electronic highway signs usually show motorists how long their drive will take, but over the next five days drivers may be caught off-guard by some Christmas and holiday movie references.

Here is what the message boards will read starting Friday through Christmas:

Friday:

ODOT says there were 12,037 unbuckled traffic crashes in 2018.

Saturday:

In 2018, 12,334 drivers were distracted during a crash, ODOT says.

Sunday:

Monday:

According to ODOT, speed was a factor in 28,139 crashes in 2018.

Tuesday:

ODOT says 12,037 drivers did not click before crashing this year.

This isn’t the first time ODOT has had fun with the message boards. The transportation department made football and dinner references during thanksgiving.
