Officers responded to Palmer Firearms in Beavercreek on an attempted break-in early Monday.

The incident reportedly occurred around 1:40 a.m. at the firearms store, located at 2338 Grange Hall Road.

Four individuals threw rocks at the store’s window in an unsuccessful attempt to break the glass, according to the store’s owner.

The four suspects, who authorities say reportedly fled in a white 4-door Sedan, were not able to gain entry into the store. Police responded after an employee at the Kings Table called 9-1-1 to report broken glass.

A vehicle matching the description of the one used in this incident was involved in a crash on North Gettysburg Avenue in Dayton hours later. Four subjects were inside the vehicle and three fled the scene following the crash.

Beavercreek Police Captain Chad Lindsey said officers are working with Dayton police to see if there is a connection between the attempted break-in and the crash.

The firearms shop was also the target of a break-in back in April when surveillance footage showed 10 suspects force entry by throwing a rock at the window, ransack the store, and flee within 45 seconds.

Those individuals did not make away with any weapons.
