An Ohio State University graduate was crowned Saturday night as 2017 Miss Ohio.

Sarah Clapper, 22, of Columbus, entered the pageant as Miss Clayland and is from Louisville, Ohio.

She was crowned by 2016 Miss Ohio Alice Magoto of Cincinnati at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield.

Clapper’s talent was piano, and her platform is “More to Me,” which Clapper stated “empowers individuals to define ‘self’ based on deeper purpose and to identify to prepare for the challenge of pivotal life-changing moments.”

The Mansfield NewsJournal reported that Clapper was a double preliminary winner this week. She won Friday night’s preliminary talent for her piano rendition of “White Water Chopped Sticks,” the newspaper reported, and on Thursday night she was the preliminary lifestyle and fitness winner.
