Morning crash knocks out power to 3,300 in Greene County

A morning crash knocked out power for several hours Tuesday to more than 3,300 Dayton Power and Light customers.

UPDATE @ 8:44 a.m.:

Approximately 2,300 customers are still without power. The estimated time for restoration was moved to 9 a.m., according to the online DP&L Outage Map.

UPDATE @ 7:20 a.m.:

Over 2,000 DP&L customers remain without power after the crash initially affected 3,346 customers southwest of Jamestown around 6 a.m., according to the outage map.

FIRST REPORT:

Approximately 3,346 customers are without power after a crash occurred on Waynesville Jamestown Road Wednesday morning, according to the Dayton Power and Lights outage map.

Initial reports indicate a vehicle crashed into a ditch in the 3700 block, southwest of Jamestown around 6 a.m.

There were no injuries reported, according to emergency scanner traffic.

There have been multiple crashes and slide-offs throughout the area due to snow showers and slick spots on the roads this morning.

We’ll continue to monitor for when power is restored.
