The bus was dropping off passengers in the right lane of southbound Salem Avenue, Streck said. The vehicle’s driver didn’t see the bus and veered right into the parking lot of Dayton Auto Repair, hitting a pedestrian who either just exited the bus or was waiting for the bus, according to Streck.

The victim’s injuries are “very serious,” Streck said.

Additional details and possible citations are pending and still under investigation.

Northbound lanes of Salem Avenue have been reopened, but southbound lanes are expected to be blocked until the investigation is completed.
