3 people hurt in head-on crash in Fairborn

Alcohol is suspected in a 2 car head-on collision, which sent three people to local hospitals early Friday morning.

Deputies and State Troopers were dispatched to the area of Old Yellow Springs Road and Bernice Drive around 3 a.m. and when crew arrived on the scene they found the two vehicles heavily damaged.

One car travelling east on Old Yellow Springs drove off the right side of the road and over corrected, troopers said. The car then hit a second vehicle travelling west on Old Yellow Springs. Alcohol use in the car driving east is highly suspected, troopers said, and an open beer bottle was sitting between the passenger and driver seats.

The driver of the eastbound car was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious leg injuries, but is expected to be okay, troopers said. A passenger in the eastbound vehicle refused medical treatment at the scene. Both the driver and passenger of the westbound vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

Tyler Rowland, 21, remains in Miami Valley Hospital. No condition is available for him.

Amber Allen, 35, was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
