Pit bull intended for breeding attacked by male dog, dropped off to be euthanized

A pit bull named “Darling” is recovering after she was attacked by a male dog her owner intended her to breed with.

Darling’s owner placed a male dog with her while she was in heat, according to a post on the Miami Valley Pit Crew’s Facebook page. But instead of breeding, the male dog attacked Darling, severely injuring her foot and shoulder.

Darling’s owners dropped her off at the vet to be euthanized, who then called the Miami Valley Pit Crew to help.

Darling’s leg will be amputated and she will be spayed.
