Former Xenia schools employee changes plea in alleged sexual assault of student

Amy Dixon changed her plea to guilty of sexual battery, a third degree felony, as part of a plea agreement with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office.

Dixon is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 9, but she may avoid jail time.

The prosecutor’s office is recommending that Dixon be sentenced to community control and to be registered as a Tier III sex offender, the most severe classification under Ohio law.

Tier III sex offenders must register with the local sheriff’s office every three months for the rest of their lives.

Amy Dixon, former Xenia High School attendance secretary, has changed her plea in the sexual battery case involving a 17-year-old male student.

Dixon appeared in Judge Stephen Wolaver’s court this morning with her attorney Nicholas Gounaris.

Dixon denied the charge in Greene County Common Pleas Court in April. This morning, Dixon changed her plea to guilty.

A former Xenia High School employee who is charged with sexual battery after sex assault allegations involving a student last year is scheduled for a plea hearing today.

Amy Dixon, 32, a former attendance secretary at the high school, was indicted on a single count of felony sexual battery, according to online records. She plead not guilty to the third-degree felony charge on March 27.

Dixon was put on indefinite paid administrative leave in September 2018 as Xenia police and the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office investigated sexual allegations involving a 17-year-old male student.

The incident was alleged to have happened in a parking lot in the 500 block of Newport Road sometime between Aug. 20 and Sept. 14, according to the police report.

Dixon resigned from her position on Sept. 25, 11 days after she was put on paid leave.

She was hired by Xenia schools in January 2016.

Dixon will face a judge in Greene County Common Pleas Court for this morning’s plea hearing.
