Police investigate armed robbery at Springfield gas station

Police were called to investigate an armed robbery reported at a Springfield gas station late Wednesday night, according to a police incident report.

The robbery was reported at the BP gas station at 2598 East Main Street just before 11 p.m.

An employee at the business reported an armed, masked man entered the store and pointed a gun at her, demanding cash, the report states.

The robber was able to make off with an undetermined amount of cash from the register before running from the scene, police said.

A search of the area for the robber was unsuccessful, police said.

No injuries were reported.
