Police were first called around 1:15 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Commonwealth and Dundee drives.
The two drivers, a man and a woman, knew each other and were in some kind of relationship, Xenia police Sgt. Scott Beegle said.
After the crash, witnesses told police the man approached the woman and kicked her in the stomach, Beegle said.
Based on witness reports, police arrested the man, who was not identified, on domestic violence charges.
Investigators also believe the crash was intentional.
The woman was not injured, police said.
