SUV ends up in the ditch after deer strike on I-70 in Harmony Twp.

An SUV was down in a ditch Friday morning after it struck a deer on Interstate 70 eastbound near U.S. 40 in Harmony Twp. in Clark County, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.

The trooper said that the SUV was traveling behind a semi truck on the highway when the semi switched lanes, revealing that a deer had wandered onto the highway.

The SUV struck the deer, killing the animal and driving off the side of the road. There will be no citations issued in this crash, the trooper said.

Emergency crews responded to the report of a crash at around 4:30 a.m.
