UPDATE @ 11:23 p.m. July 22

Police are trying to determine whether a motorcyclist was a hit-and-run victim or simply lost control of his bike, Huber Heights Sgt. Charles Taylor said.

The man on his bike, believed to be in his early 50s, was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury, Taylor said. The man was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

Taylor said police were dispatched on what was described as a possible hit-and-run accident. They arrived to find the man and the motorcycle, on the ground.

Officers were on scene late tonight, taking measurements as they try to determine what caused the accident.

If you saw the accident or something believed to be associated with the accident, the sergeant asks that you call the police division at 937-233-1565.
