Dayton house shot; bullet lodged in back door

Police are investigating after a bullet hole was discovered early Friday in a the front door of a home after a resident heard a gunshot.

Dayton police were dispatched around 1:25 a.m. to the 600 block of Negley Place in Dayton.

A woman reported that she was sleeping on the living room couch when her teenage son woke her up to check if she was OK. He said that he heard a gunshot outside.

The woman checked the front door and noticed a bullet hole, according to the Dayton police report.

Police noted a bullet hole in the front door and interior walls, according to the report. It was lodged in the back door.

Officers located two shell casings in the street near the home, read the report. No injuries were reported.
