Residents living in the Xenia Community Schools district will vote on renewals of an income tax and property tax during the May 5 election.
The school board approved the two issues, earlier this month, to go on the ballot.
If approved by voters, the 0.50 percent income tax would be in effect for seven years and would generate about $3.3 million. The five-year property tax levy, 11.75 mills, would generate an estimated $7.6 million.
These taxes account for an estimated 25 percent of the school district’s operating budget, according to the school district. SHARAHN BOYKIN
