Retirement village receives accreditation

MONROE — Mount Pleasant Retirement Village recently received a five-year re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission.

CARF/CCAC is an independent, merged nonprofit that accredits aging services and other human services organizations.

Organizations that receive the five-year accreditation like Mount Pleasant, 225 Britton Lane, undergo a review process and must demonstrate a commitment to conforming to CARF/CCAC’s accreditation conditions and standards.

Mount Pleasant, which is a part of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services retirement communities, has been accredited for 20 years.

“We choose to become accredited continually to demonstrate the great value we place on those who we serve – our residents,” OPRS Chief Operating Officer Daniel J. O’Connor said.

“It assures that we conform to proven business practices, employee training, information management and continuous quality improvement. In today’s economic environment, it is one of the best indicator’s of an organizations financial stability.”

OPRS is the largest not-for-profit provider of continuing care retirement communities and services in Ohio.

With headquarters in Columbus, OPRS serves 5,300 residents annually, operates 13 adult day centers and offers Senior Independence services to more than 59,000 older adults in 41 Ohio counties.
