Today beginning at 8 a.m. Riverside Service Department personnel will be coordinating the collection of yard debris resulting from the tornadoes, according to the city.

This includes the neighborhoods south of Airway Road; Lynnhaven and Bayside drives, and the Beverly Gardens area, according to the city.

The city was hit by two tornadoes - one an EF-4 and the other an EF-3 - last week, according to the National Weather Service. Two of the hardest hit areas were Overlook Mutual Homes and off-site housing for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base personnel, officials said.

This is the first round of clean up that will take place, according to the city. Additional pickups will take place on Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7.

The city is asking residents to have vegetative yard waste at the curb of the property. This does not have to be bundled or cut.

If you need assistance with getting tree debris to the curb, please contact Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center at 937-224-8936.

The city is requesting patience. Currently, cleanups will be done on a week-by-week basis until larger-than-normal amounts of debris are eliminated, according to the city.
