Road re-opened

The section of Union Road that is located over Interstate 70 reopened this week after being shut-down due to repairs, according to an Ohio Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

This section of road was closed on July 28 so that ODOT workers could remove and replace the concrete deck overlay material, according to Jackie Nicol, an ODOT transportation engineer.

The project cost was approximately $130,600.

In the meantime, ODOT is still in the process of completing similar work on two Airport Access Road structures that are located over the interstate.

The work for the Airport Access Road bridges also includes reseting bearings and repairing crossframe welds. This work is scheduled to be completed in October.

The cost for the Airport Access Road structures is approximately $266,000. KELLI WYNN
