Customers hold down man accused of exposing self to children inside Dayton store

A man accused of exposing himself to children inside a store at the Eastown Shopping Center on Linden Avenue is in jail.

“We need the police to come because this guy just pulled his penis out in front of these kids,” a female 911 caller told police.

Officers responded to the Village Discount Outlet, 3880 Linden Ave., around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police arrested Gary Pigman, 69, of Dayton, on three counts of felony public indecency, according to an incident report and jail records.

The 911 caller told police a group of parents were holding Pigman inside the store until police could arrive.

“They’ve got him hostage, the parents do,” the caller said.

According to public records, Pigman was previously convicted of gross sexual imposition involving a victim under the age of 13 in August 2003.

He was released from prison in June 2008 following his 2003 conviction, online records show.
