Icy roads cause semi-trucks to jackknife on I-75 in northern Miami Valley

Three semi-trucks jackknifed on northbound I-75 due to slick, icy roads early Thursday morning.

The first crash was reported near the County Road 25A exit in Miami County after the truck slid off the roadway and went down in a ditch around 1:50 a.m.

The second semi-truck jackknifed less than an hour and two miles away from the first truck on I-75.

The third truck jackknifed on southbound I-75, south of Ohio 119 in Shelby County around 3:45 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the crashes, state troopers confirm.

A mix of light snow and rain showers overnight, coupled with falling temperatures made for slick spots and possible ice patches on the roadways.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. for the following counties: Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Shelby, and Warren counties.
