Snow returns this morning, more on the way

Another round of wintry weather is moving into the Miami Valley.

>>5-Day Forecast

Light snow will overspread the area this morning, leading to deteriorating travel conditions. While the snow is expected to exit the region before daybreak, the Tuesday morning commute will likely be slow.

Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said accumulations will be light but impactful.

“Most of the Miami Valley will pick up about a half inch to one inch of snow by daybreak Tuesday. It will depend on how fast the snow moves out overnight as to how bad the morning commute will be,” Elwell said.

The Break from the snow won’t last long as yet another system will take aim on the Miami Valley late Tuesday night into Wednesday.

“This next system will likely be more impactful,” Elwell said.

While the track of this storm system is still uncertain, this storm could drop at least 1 inch to 3 inches of snow on parts of the Miami Valley.

“Higher amounts may be possible, especially south and east of Dayton. It is really a storm we will pay attention to closely for any last minute track changes,” Elwell said.
