News Center 7’s Gabrielle Enright spoke with Jerry Stover of A-Atherton Plumbing who said his company has been fixing frozen pipes and sump pumps for a couple of months now.
Stover says with rain in the forecast now is the time to test your sump pump. This can be done by dumping a five gallon bucket of water into the sump pump hole to make sure it kicks on and off. He also advises that fixing or replacing a sump pump can run anywhere from $1,200 to $1,400, much less than an entire basement remodel.
NewsCenter 7 will have more information regarding residential flood prevention beginning at 5 p.m. on WHIO-TV.
