Wrecker clears 2-vehicle accident scene on I-75 South in Butler Twp.

UPDATE @ 8:35 p.m.: The accident has been cleared. I-75 South in Butler Twp. is open again.

UPDATE @ 6:50 p.m.:

I-75 South, just north of Benchwood Road in Butler Twp., will remain clogged for more than another hour as the state patrol is waiting for a heavy-duty wrecker to clear the accident.

The right two lanes -- plus the emergency lane -- are open. The left two lanes remain closed. The wrecker is coming from Sidney.

The driver of the SUV was trapped for a time, but managed to crawl out of the wreckage and refused medical treatment, a trooper said. The driver told troopers he blacked out and doesn't remember the accident, the trooper said.

Troopers said the driver will have to be tested.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

INITIAL REPORT

There is an SUV on its side, its wheels against the median wall, on I-75 South just north of Benchwood Road in Harrison Twp in what appears to be a multi-vehicle accident.

One lane (emergency) on the right is open. All other lanes are slowed or shut down.

We've heard there could be a person trapped in the wreck that involves a semitrailer, the SUV and possibly a third vehicle. The accident was reported just after 6 p.m.
