SUV rolls on I-70; woman injured

ENGLEWOOD — A woman was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with minor injuries after her SUV crashed in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70.

The accident, which was near the Ohio 48 interchange, was reported to the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, according to a dispatcher at the Dayton post.

The accident was out of the line of traffic as of 10:20 a.m.

Troopers with the Dayton Post of the state patrol believe the woman lost control of the SUV, for an unknown reason, while traveling west on the interstate, according to Sgt. Chris Colbert. The SUV started sliding sideways, went off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail, partially rolled over and struck the right side of a fence.

“We’re still investigating why she lost control,” Colbert said.

The woman, who is believed to be at least 40, was using her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
