Things to do: Four holiday activities in Fairborn

The Fairborn Parks and Recreation Department has several holiday programs open to the general public this December.

Residents are invited to learn about the programs and participate.

  • Dec. 14: Build a winter birdfeeder — Build and decorate a birdfeeder for winter birds. 6-7 p.m. at Fairborn Parks and Recreation office, 461 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. Participation costs $3. Open to all ages, with children under 12 supervised by adult. Registration deadline Dec. 13.
  • Dec. 16: Community Christmas Campfire — Join fellow Fairborn residents at the second annual campfire. The event is free and open to residents. 6-7:30 p.m. at Fairborn Central Park, 222 S. Central Ave.
  • Dec. 20: Holiday centerpiece making — Craft a centerpiece of Christmas greenery. 6:30-8 p.m. at Hollon Flowers, 50. N. Central Ave. $40 registration fee includes cost of flowers. For ages 18 and older. Registration deadline Dec. 13.
  • Dec. 21: Winter mittens painting — Students will paint mittens on black backgrounds. For ages 5 and older. Please wear old clothes. 6-7:30 p.m. at Terri Lynn Art Studio and Gallery, 415 W. Main St. Registration fee is $15.
