Thurman reports for Daily Caller

CENTERVILLE — A 2000 Centerville High School graduate has joined the conservative news site, The Daily Caller, as a reporter.

Paul Thurman is an active blogger and has his own Web site, www.paulthurman.com.

Thurman is a board member of the Kandiyohi County Republican Party and the co-chair of the CD 7 Young Republicans Club in Minnesota.

He comes from a family of politicians. His great uncle was the mayor of Elizabethtown, Ky., and his grandfather ran for United States representative in Kentucky.

His first personal encounter with politics was being the videographer for the city council meetings in Centerville.

In 2002, he campaigned for Republican Mark Nuaimi, mayor of Fontana, Calif. He attended the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., and actively campaigned for the Republican party in the 2008 election.

According to Facebook, The Daily Caller will be a comprehensive news site, providing original reporting, constantly updated links to the latest news, analysis of current events, satire, research on current policy issues, columns from thought leaders, and Congressional Member reviews.

The site, started by political pundit Tucker Carlson, will launch in mid-January in Washington, D.C.

Thurman currently lives in Willmar, Minn., and is a frequent speaker, activist and commentator on faith and politics.
