In 2017, the county’s tourism industry generated $47 million in state and local taxes, more than $766 million in sales at local businesses and sustained 8,373 local jobs, according to the report.
The county saw an increase of 15.6 percent in sales revenue related to the tourism industry from 2016 to 2017, according to Kathleen Wright, executive director of the Greene County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The numbers are based on the state’s economic impact report and are estimated based in part on sales tax data on lodging, retail and recreation from the Ohio Department of Taxation, according to GCCVB.
