Troopers: Belligerent bystander arrested after crash on U.S. 35 in Greene County

Troopers arrested a man after they said he became belligerent at the scene of a crash Friday on U.S. 35 in Beavercreek Twp.

The crash was reported around 1 p.m. in the westbound lanes of U.S. 35 between Trebein Road and the U.S. 35 bypass.

The driver lost control and slammed into a median guardrail. The passenger was taken to Soin Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, and the driver was not injured in the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Xenia Post.

A bystander, who described as a friend of the driver, stopped after the crash happened. Troopers said the man, who was not identified, became belligerent at the scene and later was arrested.

The driver was cited for failure to control, troopers said.

One lane of U.S. 35 was blocked for more than an hour while the crash was investigated.
