A man and woman from Lewisburg were killed in a Preble County motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon.
According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers and medics were dispatched to Wikel Road, near Monroe-Central Road around 5:40 p.m. Sunday on a reported crash involving a motorcycle.
Troopers said an initial investigation found a motorcycle, operated by 49-year-old Thomas Krug, of Lewisburg was traveling with 45-year-old Ruth Krug as a passenger. The Krugs were traveling southwest on Wikel Road when Thomas failed to negotiate a curve, went left of center, and crashed head-on into a pickup truck, driven by 68-year-old Joann Hoskins, of Arcanum.
Both Thomas and Ruth were ejected from the motorcycle and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said both motorcycle occupants were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash was not released and the incident remains under investigation by the Dayton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
