Troy city council votes to prohibit medical marijuana

After numerous months of discussion for and against the sale of medical marijuana in Troy, a vote Monday evening by council will prohibit the sale of medical marijuana within the city limits of Troy once and for all.

The vote was 7 to 1 against selling marijuana for medical purposes in Troy city limits.

During early discussions, Troy Council wanted nothing to do with growing or processing marijuana for medical purposes within the city limits of Troy and unanimously voted against that ordinance early on, according to Council President Marty Baker.
