Troy Foundation donates $80,000 to city

The Troy Foundation is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a legacy gift of $80,000 to the city of Troy, which is celebrating its bicentennial in 2014.

The gift is intended to support riverfront development, specifically the rebuilding of the lighthouse at Treasure Island along the Great Miami River.

Foundation representatives presented the gift to Mayor Mike Beamish during Troy City Council’s meeting Monday, March 3. “This is to support the future growth of our city. These river events and activities will not only help to keep people here, but help bring people here to call Troy home,” said Melissa Kleptz, executive director of The Troy Foundation.
