Robin Oda was elected Troy mayor over Tom Kendall in the Republican race Tuesday evening.

With all Troy precincts counted at the Miami County Board of Elections, Oda had 58.76 percent to 41.24 percent for Kendall. Oda will be the city’s first woman mayor.

Kendall has been on council for 14 years representing the 1st Ward, while Oda has served eight years as an at large member.

Current Mayor Mike Beamish is retiring at year’s end after 16 years in that position. The mayor is paid $23,580 a year.

No Democrat filed to run for the office.

In the race for the representative to the 6th Ward of Troy City Council, incumbent Brock Heath was unseated by challenger Jeff Schilling. The unofficial vote was 59.41 percent for Schilling and 40.59 percent for Heath. Both are Republicans.
