According to the Springfield Police Division, the pursuit began in the southwest portion of the city due to the male driver having multiple warrants for his arrest.

Authorities say they pursued the same male driver twice on Sunday, with the first pursuit occurring earlier in the day. Details weren’t immediately released on the first encounter.

The pursuit picked back up just before 7:30 p.m. and led police onto Ohio 4 and I-70 before the vehicle crashed in the eastbound lanes near Ohio 235 in Huber Heights after 8 p.m.

Speeds were reported to have reached up to 100 mph during the pursuit, according to emergency scanner traffic.

There were a total of three occupants inside the pursuit vehicle. Only the driver and passenger, whose names were not released, were arrested.

The driver was taken to Clark County Jail and will face outstanding warrants and failure to comply charges, police say.

The passenger was arrested for warrants out of Huber Heights.

No injuries were reported.

In addition to Springfield police, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Enon Police Department and the Huber Heights Police Department assisted with the incident.
