What’s happening at Dayton’s NFL Draft Day event

Dayton is hosting the NFL Draft Day event at Triangle Park, 2500 Ridge Ave., from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Here is what’s happening at today’s event:

  • Cincinnati Bengals 6th Round Draft Picks that will be announced by Mayor Nan Whaley

  • Family friendly football games and activities for both youth and adults
  • Food and beverage sales
  • Raffle prizes

The groundbreaking ceremony for the turf field sponsored by NFL has been postponed until further notice.

Local fans are streaming into Triangle Park awaiting the announcement of Cincinnati Bengals sixth round draft picks.

The number of those picks are now at two, organizers said.

The Bengals traded two of those picks to San Francisco and a third to Dallas.

A fourth pick in the sixth round will be announced by former Bengal quarterback Ken Anderson in Illinois, organizers said.

A Wright-Patterson Air Force Base serviceman has been selected to announce a Cincinnati Bengals sixth round pick.

Senior Airman Christian Edens has been chosen for that honor, organizers said.

Edens represents the 88th Mission Support Group at Wright-Patt, organizers said.

Here is the Tentative Draft Pick schedule for the Bengals’ sixth-round selections:

  • 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Pick #183
  • 4 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. - Pick #198
  • 4:40 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. - Pick #210, 211, 213

Outside food and drink are not permitted, but free water will be available.

Ticket holders may park in a City of Dayton lot located at the northwest corner of Monument and Keowee, and shuttles to the event site will be provided.

Ridge Avenue and the bridge at Riverside Drive will be closed to traffic from Embury Park Drive to Riverside Drive. Deweese Parkway will also be closed to traffic from Ridge Avenue to the Boonshoft Museum.

The streets are expected to re-open by 7 p.m.
