WHIO’s Enright to marshal Xenia Community Festival parade

WHIO's Gabrielle Enright will be the parade marshal this weekend at the Xenia Community Festival

The festival opens at 4 p.m. Friday at Shawnee Park with music on the pavilion from Dayton-based band Spungewurthy, followed by the traditional Balloon Glow to light the festival's first night.

The park will be filled with craft and food vendors, kids rides and paddle boats will be available on the pond. New this year is a beer tent, which will be hosted by Nick's restaurant.

The parade is set to start at 9 a.m. Saturday, starting at Main and Detroit streets and ending at Fairground Road. Enright will be honored as the parade marshal.

The event culminates Saturday night with performances by Brass Tracks, a horn band that pays tribute to the songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s.
