Two speakers will be on campus this week to celebrate graduation.

Michael L. Lomax, president and chief executive officer of the United Negro College Fund, will serve as the university’s commencement speaker. Since 2004, Lomax has served as president of the fund, which is the largest private provider of scholarships to African-American students, according to the university.
Wilberforce University will award Lomax an honorary degree during commencement at 9 a.m. Saturday at the school’s gymnasium.
Frank Madison Reid, III will serve as the university’s baccalaureate speaker. Reid is a bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and chancellor of Wilberforce University’s board of trustees.
Reid will speak at a 4 p.m. service Friday which will also be held in the university’s gymnasium, according to the school.
