Woman, 83, missing from Red Cross shelter is found safe

An 83-year-old missing woman has been found and is safe.

FIRST REPORT

A search is underway for an 83-year-old woman who went missing late this afternoon from an American Red Cross shelter for tornado victims.

Colleen Piekenbrock is described as a white woman with white hair and blue eyes who stands 5 feet 4 inches and weighs 129 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket over a T-shirt and red pants, Sugarcreek Twp. police said. We are working to get a photo of her.

According to initial reports, she suffers from dementia and was on foot when she left the shelter at First Baptist Church of Kettering, 3939 Swigart Road in Sugarcreek Twp.

Rescuers have requested a drone to assist with their search.

Anyone who spots Piekenbrock or who has information is urged to call Sugarcreek Twp. police at 937-848-6161.
