Police are looking for suspects who took guns from a Monroe residence and then fled from officers.

Monroe police questioning 2 women after gun theft

Charges are pending against two women in Monroe and the search continues for two men in connection with a gun theft, according to Middletown police.

Officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Deneen Avenue on a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and officers were talking with two female occupants, two other subjects were located on foot and ran from officers.

During the search of the male suspects, officers discovered a residence on Wexford Way was broken into and firearms were taken along with numerous other items.

Police are looking for suspects who took guns from a Monroe residence and then fled from officers.

The incident happened about 11:40 a.m. at a residence on Deneen Avenue, according to dispatchers. At 1:25 p.m. officers with police dogs were still looking for the suspects.

Students at Monroe Local Schools are being kept inside as a precaution, according to officials.
