Monroe road to close for property expansion work

A portion of Todhunter Road between Britton Lane and Yankee Road in Monroe will be closed to through traffic for the next two days.

Dan Arthur, Monroe’s public works director, said a contractor for Duke Energy will be installing water service for its property expansion project across Todhunter Road today and Wednesday, weather permitting.

Arthur said the contractor will be installing its water service and connecting it to the city’s water main, which is located on the opposite side of Todhunter Road.

Property owners east and west of 614 Todhunter Road will need to access their property from the appropriate side of the project area on these two days, he said.
