Montgomery County agencies team up to fight heroin

Two Montgomery County agencies and one local business will partner on an initiative to prevent heroin abuse. 

The plan will be announced Friday afternoon by the Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services, Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley and Kroger Pharmacy.

The three groups will talk about a prescription drug disposal for unused medication. No additional details were provided before Friday’s announcement at 2 p.m. at the Austin Landing Kroger, 10101 Landing Way, Miamisburg. 

Seventy-five percent of heroin addicts used prescription opioids before turning to heroin, the announcement said.
