More than 3,500 without power in Kettering

Dayton Power and Light is on scene and Kettering police are directing traffic at multiple intersections, including: East David Road at Wilminton Pike, East Stroop Road at Wilmington Pike, and East David Road at Hempstead Station Drive, according to Kettering police.

There was no crash in the area. Dispatch received calls of wires down, then reports a utility pole was on fire, according to Kettering police.


Thousands of customers are without power tonight in Montgomery County.

As of 8:18 p.m., there were 3,510 outages reported by Dayton Power & Light, according to its online outage map.

A large power line caught fire near David Road and Wilmington Pike in Kettering, and we’re working to confirm that is the cause of the outage.
