Motorcycle rider in critical condition after serious crash in Middletown

A Thursday afternoon motorcycle/car crash in Middletown remains under investigation.

According to the preliminary investigation by Ohio Highway Patrol’s Hamilton post, Jamie Tuttle, 35, of West Chester, was riding a 2005 Honda motorcycle south on Ohio 4 near Hamilton-Middletown Road when Bess Miller, 84, of Trenton, was driving her 2008 Buick Lacrosse and turning from Hamilton-Middletown Road onto Ohio 4. Tuttle’s motorcycle struck the Buick.

According to the patrol, Miller was stopped at stop sign but failed to yield from the stop sign when her car was struck by Tuttle’s motorcycle about 1:04 p.m. Thursday.

The patrol said alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

Tuttle was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was reported in critical but stable condition, according to the patrol. He was wearing protective equipment at the time of the crash.

Miller was transported by ambulance to Atrium Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. No information was available for Miller.

Highway patrol dispatchers said witnesses are being interviewed and a crash reconstructionist is determining if speed or any other factors were involved in the crash.
