A reward is being offered for anyone who has information concerning the shooting of a dog in Vance County, officials said, WTVD reported.
The Humane Society of the United States offered a $2,500 reward for information that could help lead to an arrest.
Officials said a man with a handgun walked by and shot Bella, a 6-month-old, mixed-breed dog, in the chest Dec. 16. The owners said she was inside their fenced-in yard.
The man then pointed the gun at the dog’s owners and threatened to kill them if they told police, according to Vance County Animal Services.
The dog was taken to a veterinarian, where officials said she is expected to make a full recovery.
