Eminem performs "Lose Yourself" at the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

It may be 2020, but guests at the Academy Awards partied like it was 2003 when Eminem took the stage.

According to The Associated Press, the rapper, whose hit "Lose Yourself" won the Oscar for best original song 17 years ago, surprised the audience by performing the song at Sunday's ceremony.

The track appeared in the 2002 film “8 Mile,” which starred Eminem.

"Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity ... Thanks for having me @TheAcademy. Sorry it took me 18 years to get here," he tweeted.

Reactions from several stars, including singer Idina Menzel, Billie Eilish and director Martin Scorsese, quickly went viral.
