Alex Trebek is back on TV in new episodes of "Jeopardy!" for the first time since undergoing treatment of pancreatic cancer.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our show," he told the TV audience, according to Fox News. But today, 'Jeopardy!' begins its 36th season on the air and I'm happy to report, I'm still here."

Trebek, 79, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March and completed treatment two weeks before returning to film the syndicated game show at NBC's Burbank Studios in California.

In May, he told People that some of his tumors shrunk by 50%, shocking his doctors.

"It's kind of mind-boggling," he told the publication. "The doctors said they hadn't seen this kind of positive result in their memory."

In Trebek's return episode and the 36th season premiere, the game's current champion, Jason Zuffranieri won his seventh game in a row, bringing his winnings to $166,500.
