"Anyone missing a python?" officials from the Burnsville Police Department tweeted early Tuesday, including a photograph of an officer holding the reptile.

Police are looking for owner of the snake, WCCO reported. And after posting on social media, police officials had to issue a correction. They had not found a python after all, but a Colombian red tail boa constrictor, the television station reported.

"Don't we have egg on our faces?" department officials tweeted. "I know this, regardless of what it's called I wouldn't be picking it up!"
