Before snipers shot Dallas cops, police stood in solidarity with protesters

Hours before snipers opened fire on members of the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit, the official Twitter feed for DPD was keeping locals updated on the peaceful protest. Police even sent out some messages that seemed to be in solidarity with protesters.

One image shows two Dallas cops smiling next to a man with a sign that reads "no justice no peace," next to a sun kissed photo of protesters at Belo Garden Park.

Tweets also included an image of an officer shaking hand with State Sen. Royce West.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown confirmed that at least two snipers shot at and hit 11 officers and one civilian. Five of them died of their injuries.
