Boyce "passed away in his sleep due to a seizure, which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated," the statement said.
The Los Angeles actor was 9 when he began his film career in the 2008 movie "Mirrors," ABC News reported. He landed roles in "General Hospital: Night Shift" and "Grown Ups" before starring in Disney series such as "Jessie," "Jake and the Never Land Pirates," "Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything" and the "Descendants" TV movies.
Fans, friends and fellow celebrities took to Twitter to pay tribute to the young star and offer condolences to his family.
