Clarke told the television station the couple said they wanted the money used to help families who were having difficulty or were behind on their utility payments.
"Our utility billing department actually called these families and was able to share the news," Clarke told KCCI. "They were very moved, and some cried with gratitude. Clearly there have been hard times due to this and also before, but they were feeling very blessed by this donation."
