Coronavirus: NJ man drives 530 miles to deliver N95 masks to sister

Joshua Yajcaji and his friend, Corey Vafiadis, took the road trip Thursday to take a box of N95 masks to Alexis Schulman, the television station reported.

According to a news release from Cone Health, the High Point facility is used exclusively for COVID-19 patients. The facility was running low on the masks, so Yajcali's effort was timely and welcome.

"My brother and I have always stuck together, and I'm not surprised he would do this for Cone Health," Schulman said in the release.

“Knowing that my sister (among others) is spending her time caring for others is no surprise by any means,” Yajcaji, who along with Vafiadis works for Vivint Solar in New Jersey, said in the release. “The passion she has for this career has been made clear and if you have not seen it already, you will in the future.”

Nursing director Scott Bennett said he enjoyed hearing Yajcaji and Schulman laugh and seeing how excited they were to see each other. He was also happy to receive the masks, WFMY reported.

"Alexis is very dedicated to Cone Health," Bennett said in the news release. "She has been working with us for four years at MedCenter High Point, but when asked to help our COVID-19 patients, she did so without hesitation and has worked there for two weeks."
